Bedtime story Morning Event 18th November 2025

🌙 Bedtime Story Morning Event – Tuesday 18th November 🌙

We are excited to invite all children to take part in our Bedtime Story Morning on

Tuesday 18th November — a fun and cosy event that celebrates the joy of listening to and sharing stories.

On this special morning, we’ll be promoting the importance of reading a bedtime story and sharing the wonderful benefits that come from enjoying books together.

Throughout the morning, KS2 pupils will become ‘Book Buddies’ to children in EYFS and KS1, reading stories together and sharing their love of books.

To help us create a bedtime story atmosphere:

  • 📚 EYFS (Nursery and Reception) pupils are invited to come to school in their pyjamas (please also bring a coat and sensible footwear, as children will still go outside).
  • 📖 Each child should bring a favourite book from home to share and read with their book buddy.
  • 🏕️ The Hive (EYFS) and the school library will be transformed into cosy reading dens, where the book buddy bedtime reading sessions will take place.

💡 Why Being Read To Matters

Reading to children—at any age—has lasting benefits. It helps to:

  • Develop imagination, curiosity, and empathy.
  • Build vocabulary and understanding of language.
  • Strengthen listening skills and concentration.
  • Create a positive, calm bedtime routine that supports better sleep.
  • Foster a lifelong love of books and learning.

Talk, Read and Sing; It Changes Everything!

Towards the end of Bedtime Story Morning, at 11am, Mrs Wall would like to invite all Nursery parents/ carers to a special presentation. This will be based on child development and how adults can support development through talk, singing and reading! It is also an opportunity to ask any questions about development you may have. If you are a Nursery parent, please come to the office at 10.50 am. You will spend 30 minutes in the hall with Mrs Wall, and will then be able to collect your children directly from the Hive afterwards. If your child does not attend a Tuesday, we would still very much like to see you 😊 Please let a member of the Nursery Team know of your attendance. You will receive a bedtime story book to keep at the event.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful morning of stories, imagination, and togetherness. Thank you for helping us to celebrate the magic of reading,

Mrs Wall
