Keeping Safe

How do we help you to keep safe in school?

All of the adults in school work really hard to keep you safe in school. We also have our school code of conduct so that everybody knows what is expected of them. The code of conduct is designed to keep you safe:

  • We are always honest and polite.
  • We keep unkind thoughts and actions to ourselves.
  • We respect everybody and everything.
  • We always try our best in everything we do.

What should I do if I have a worry?

If you ever have a worry about something, no matter how small you think it is, there will always somebody to help you in school. You can talk to an adult that you know or a friend who might help you to talk to an adult.

What should I do if I can’t talk to anybody?

If you don’t want to talk to somebody, you can write down your worry or that you need to talk to somebody and then put it in the worry monster in your classroom or one of our worry boxes in the corridors. Make sure you put your name on it so that somebody can help you.

Remember that we use SMART to keep safe online:

If you are worried about something you have seen or something that has been said or sent to you online, talk to a trusted adult as soon as you can.

What should I do if I think I am being bullied?

We are very lucky that bullying is very rare in our school. Remember, bullying is when something is done on purpose, happens repeatedly over time and is unprovoked. If you think you are being bullied, talk to a trusted adult at home or school as soon as you can and they will make sure it stops. The best way to stop bullying is to report it.
