As part of the Government’s policy to improve the educational attainment of under-performing pupils, additional funding has been allocated to schools through the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG).
This allocation is based on the number of pupils in Reception to Year 6, who have been entitled to Free School Meals (FSM), as recorded on the termly census.
An additional allocation is made for pupils of service personnel and Looked After Children (LAC) who comply with the looked after children criteria.
Mrs Wall is one of our most experienced teachers and she leads on Pupil Premium across the school. She is also a part of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This ensures that voice and needs of these pupils is front and centre of our decision making.
How do I know if my child is eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant?
Click here to see if you qualify for free school meals and to apply. Please remember to apply for them even if your child is in Early Years, Year 1 or Year 2 and automatically gets Universal Free School Meals as the school will receive additional funding. If you need any support claiming for free school meals, please come and speak to a member of our office team who will be happy to help you. https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/free-school-meals
How do we spend the PPG?
Our PPG for 2025/2026 is £95,795. Click below to see our full Pupil Premium Strategy written in December 2024, with a 3 year vision to December 2027 and reviewed annually every December.
The intended outcomes for our current strategy plan are as follows:
– Improve the attainment in Prime Areas of gross and fine motor skills
– Improve the attainment of disadvantaged pupils in phonics
– Improved writing attainment for disadvantaged pupils at the end of KS2 by improving oracy and speech and language
– To achieve and sustain improved attendance for all pupils, particularly our disadvantaged pupils
– To enhance the enrichment offer for our most disadvantaged pupils and track engagement of our most disadvantaged pupils
